East Anglia Game and Country Fair
Posted at 29/04/10 - 01:05 AM
Another early start saw the Norfolk Responders eagerly anticipating a busy day in the sunshine at the East Anglian Game Fair held at the Royal Norfolk Showground last weekend.
As the county awoke, Norfolk’s Community Partnership Manager, Andrew Barlow, had been live on BBC Radio Norfolk’s breakfast show with David Whiteley, who had spotted the team in action earlier in the year at Castle Mall for their Hearts and Minds event.
Together they discussed the Responder Schemes and the important role the Responder volunteers play in their communities, how to administer CPR and its importance in saving a life.
The event was promoted on air, with all visitors encouraged to seek out the classic ambulance and Responder cars highlighting the Responder stand and sample the free health checks on offer, learn how to perform CPR or possibly experience one of the fake wounds lovingly applied to scare the family!
Throughout the successful weekend, many visitors to the stand were taught how to use CPR and, in turn, potentially save a life.
